This is probably the only good piece of fantasy art that I've churned out that hasn't been stolen. But it was damaged at the art show, as you can see, and that _really_ ticks me off.
I landed a 2nd place with this pretty little bird-boy, although I can safely say the person who got the 1st place was, unsurprisingly, from the host school and actually did not deserve what place he recieved. I'm not saying I deserved it, actually I think Josh should have gotten it 'cause his heron was outstanding. Anyway...I am happy with the way it turned out, though, and I'll hopefully be able to fix that horrid mark someday. These little scratch board things are the absolute devil to scan...if i can get it to scan better, I'll edit it, but for now, it'll do. |

I was surpised that I placed...usually my fantasy-ridden art is usually beaten out by bowls of fruit or other " traditional art", but this time it was a dead tree...and you could tell that the guy's strokes were rushed, but anyway it's pretty cool to almost break that " tradition".

Gah, it took like 80 frickin' tries to get it to look that good on the scanner and I had to hold the stupid thing a few inches above the glass so the light would catch the details 'cause it wasn't when it was on the glass. Yeah, so, anyway...

Wonderful detail, I love the color in the lower right corner, and the ear rings are a very nice touch.
I'd like to have seen a little more detail in his eyes, but other than that I have nothing but good to say about this.
